Our Mission


Our qualified and caring staff offers customized upper and lower limb prosthetics as well as a wide variety of customized orthotics, or body braces, utilizing cutting edge technology to meet the unique needs of each of our patients.  Our primary goal is to provide excellent service and tools to our patients to enable them to live their lives to the fullest potential.  We take the name of our company quite seriously and strive to offer "new life" so that our patients can actively pursue their life goals with renewed hope and passion.

Scott Atha, licensed prosthetist and orthotist, will treat your existing condition and work to help you improve your quality of life and achieve your wellness goals.  He is also the owner of New Life Prosthetics and Orthotics, serving here for 20 years.

More about Scott Atha

Owner, Manager and Prosthetist / Orthotist

Scott created the company of New Life Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2000.  He continues to own, manage and serve as its lead prosthetist / orthotist.  Prior to that, he worked for almost a decade in the industry, first in Fort Worth before moving to Austin. 

Scott's educational background includes a Certificate in Prosthetics from Northwestern University in 1992 and Master and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of North Texas in 1989 and 1987.

Professional affiliations include the Texas Board of Orthotics and Prosthetics for which Scott served as the first chairman of the board from 1997-2000 and then as a board member from 2001-2004.  Scott played an instrumental role in passing the original rules for implementing the Orthotics and Prosthetics Act.  Scott has also been actively involved in the American Board for Certification, the Texas Association of Orthotists and Prosthetists, and the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association.

Outside of work, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and two children as well as volunteering at his church and various other organizations.
